Treehouse NDSM - studio 57T1
Studio AloKey is our creative space for creating music, improvisation, performance, and education.
Mojan Alaiyeh is a composer and music tutor who has been active in concert music and the Dutch film industry for several years and is currently a guest lecturer at Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
Sep Keyhani is a classically trained pianist and composer specializing in improvisation, with experience in competitions and workshops in this field.
In this workshop, you’ll be introduced to using improvisation as a starting point for film scoring. Mojan will show how to emotionally analyze a story and identify key moments, while Sep demonstrates how to turn those insights into live musical improvisations.
This is an introductory workshop: perfect for anyone curious about the role of music in film. Whether you are a musician, filmmaker, or simply love cinema, you’ll gain insight into how music shapes storytelling.
Musicians: if you feel comfortable, you can be an active participant and improvise over selected scenes.
Non-musicians: you can watch, listen, and discuss how composers create mood and emotion in film.
