Janne Schra - Paintings - Prints - Books -LPs

Studio NDSM-plein 105, Kunststad 1st floor, NDSM LOODS

The general public mainly knows Janne Schra (1981) as a singer (of Room Eleven and solo), but her visual art is at least as defining for who she is as a creator.

Schra paints purely from intuition, deliberately pushing intellect into the background. Without a preconceived plan, she captures the magic of a landscape or a face.

The result: paintings, drawings, and prints that are powerful, colorful, direct, and authentic. Whatever form her work takes, imagery and stories flow together effortlessly, as seen in her philosophical picture book ‘Kleuren moeten ook slapen’ (‘Colours Need to Sleep Too’). Her music will be available too.
