Gonca Akbaba (1992) haalt inspiratie uit elementen in het alledaagse leven. Ze is vaak onderweg en gebruikt deze reizen als uitgangspunt voor haar ensceneringen. Ze creëert in haar werk een plek die niet bestaat, een omgeving die veilig aanvoelt en waarin ze zich kan terugtrekken.
Haar werk is multidisciplinair, met olie- en acrylverf als hoofdmedium binnen de schilderkunst.
De huidige schilderijenseries verbeelden een wereld waaraan ze behoefte heeft. Haar Turkse en Nederlandse achtergrond komt samen in haar werk. De locaties, kleuren en persoonlijke spullen zijn terug te zien in haar werk.
Gonca Akbaba (1992) draws inspiration from elements of everyday life. She is often on the move and uses these travels as a starting point for her staged compositions. In her work, she creates a place that does not exist , an environment that feels safe and offers a space to withdraw into.
Her practice is multidisciplinary, with oil and acrylic paint as her primary media within painting. Her current series of paintings portray a world she longs for, a personal, imagined reality shaped by inner needs. Her Turkish and Dutch background merges in her work. This is reflected in the locations, colors, and personal objects that appear throughout her pieces.
