Through my camera, I give shape to my thoughts and emotions in a world that is constantly in motion. Whether reflecting on personal introspection or responding to social unrest, I am primarily interested in the underlying causes of human behaviour. Driven by imagination and a desire for depth, I explore the tension between unspoken emotions and elusive longings.
To make visible what lives beneath the surface, I approach the world as a psychological landscape in which polarisation seems greater than ever. From my own darkness, I enter into a dialogue with light and shadow, seeking moments of stillness that feel like a pause in time. By slowing down, traces of what once was begin to emerge, much like history leaves its marks.
Dewi (1979) lives and works in Amsterdam, where she runs a practice in Applied Psychology, drawing on both professional expertise and lived experience. Creative methods form an integral part of her work, through which she supports people with specific support needs in achieving their personal learning goals. After establishing a strong foundation at the Fotoacademie, she decided to present her photographic work through exhibitions and publications.
