Damla is a ceramic artist based in Amsterdam. Her studio - Studio RAVA explores clay as a way of communication, through touch, feeling, and presence.
Clay silences her inner noise, transforming emotion, memory, and self into tangible form. She works through carving and inlaying, revealing the honest depth of raw material. Her functional pieces bring art into daily rituals; her sculptural works carry deeper, unspoken stories.
History is made by humankind, but mostly written by men. Damla looks to where women left their mark instead, woven into fabric, knitted into socks, carved into walls. Marks, lines, craft: a silent language and witness to history and emotion. Her work speaks the same ancient language. It focuses on words and stories that are not spoken but carved onto surfaces, pressed into matter, felt.
She also runs Clay & Ritual and Clay & Design workshops, where clay is a medium for creativity — something to discover, not to be taught. She holds space that is calm, encouraging, and genuinely curious.
