About László Arzberger- Szabó
I cannot compare the feeling I had when I developed my first roll of film and saw the pictures I captured in a silver-coated film. It was cathartic! As a child, I realized, that I see things differently than others. I wanted to express my unique perspective through visual art and photography. I studied linguistics and literature. At the same time, I started to publish my poems. A relationship with a young paintress rekindled my interest in visual arts. In 2010, I founded the DADADA Art Group. The group was active until 2013 when I moved to The Netherlands.
I will never forget when I was a 7-year-old schoolboy, and my father lent me his analogue SLR camera for a trip to the zoo. Later, as a student, I had many experimental photo shoots for a while. Then I stopped because I was distracted by many other activities. In 2019, I had a dream about a camera that inspired me to start again. When I woke up, I purchased an old 6×9 camera.
Now, I specialize in capturing people’s raw and unfiltered emotions in a diverse range of environments, from busy city streets to vibrant music festivals. My goal is to show my models’ real character and beauty, to reveal a bit more about them than what regular eyes can see.
Recently I worked for a company as a team leader photographer. I made more than 2000 photoshoots of individuals or groups. My clients included visitors to the sunny or gloomy zoo or the sparkling Beatrix Theater. I also took many photos of the tourists in the old Heineken brewery, among the polished copper barrels, and later in the basement, enjoying their pints of beer in the dark bar. These various conditions have helped me become a confident photographer who can work under any circumstances. At events, I create a complete visual story by combining wide-angle shots with portraits and detailed photos.
